A 27 year old woman from Liphook will be part of an all-female team attempting to become the first crew to row 8000 miles across the Pacific Ocean.
Jess Rowe joins two others to row from Peru in South America west to Sydney Harbour.
The journey will take them up to six months to complete, and they’ll have to row for 15 hours a day, sometimes through 30-foot waves.
The “Seas The Day” ocean rowing team says more people have walked in space than have rowed across the Pacific.
They are due to start the long voyage in January next year.
