Wing Commander Tim Kerss flew the Jaguar aircraft for 12 years and amassed 2970 hours on this aircraft whilst it was in service with the RAF. On his first tour he was his squadron's Air Electronics Warfare Officer, on his second he was made a Qualified Weapons Instructor and on his third tour he served as a flight commander and instructor on the Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Lossiemouth. His final tour was as the Commanding Officer of 54 (Fighter) Squadron based at RAF co;tishall, norfolk.
In his talk, Tim will cover the introduction and development of the Jaguar, and the deployments it saw during its 33 years of RAF service. He will talk about the weapons carried, the tactics employed, and of course, what it was like flying an aircraft that was most at home going fast and operating down “in the weeds”.
