Save the Date & Join Selsey’s VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations! 🎉🎶
Mark your diaries and, more importantly, come along to East Beach Green on the evening of Thursday 8 May for a special commemoration of VE Day 80 starting at 7:00pm!
7:00pm - Bring your own fish & chip supper from your favourite Selsey chippy – the only meal not rationed during WWII!
7:15pm Watch an incredible display & sail past by RNLI Selsey Lifeboat, Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team and Selsey Fishermen – our home front’s answer to a flypast!
8:10pm Sing along with Chichester City Band as we join in community songs.
8:50pm Attend Selsey’s civic ceremony and hear personal stories of life and events on the home front during WWII.
🔥 Witness the grand finale – the lighting of the beacon at 9:30pm, a symbol of remembrance and unity.
Come for the whole evening or just part of it – but don’t miss this chance to honour VE Day 80 together. Be there, be part of it! ✨
