The Frow Show 2024
More tractors, more muck-spreading, more great sketch comedy – yes, The Frow Show is back. In March 2024 the show returns to Springhill Farm, next to the Weirwood Reservoir on the outskirts of Forest Row for a three-week run.
The 2024 show will bring a whole new swag of original songs and sketches presented cabaret style with a live band. Inspired by life in the whacky village of Forest Row and the world at large, The Frow Show aims to bring simple and much-needed light relief to these heavy, complicated times.
The show runs across three weeks: Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th Friday 8th Saturday the 9th of March, and the following week: Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday the 16th of March, and then the week after: Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of March.
This year, we aim to use our comedy to focus on the challenges experienced by teenagers in the wake of the pandemic and lockdown period. As well as educating and informing our audiences about the experiences of young people in the age of covid, we also aim to directly involve youth in the project itself. We will create opportunities for them to shadow theatre professionals during the production and learn not only practical theatre production skills but also live performance skills.
“We all struggled through the lock down period, and during that time we weren’t able to do a live Frow Show. But I think that the lock down was particularly hard on kids. Many of us in the show have children so we saw their difficulties first hand. We know that the mental health of this generation has been impacted, along with their education and career prospects. So we wanted to use our show and comedy to help draw attention to their plight.”
Mike Sengelow is no stranger to skit comedy. In his native New Zealand he starred in a primetime TV comedy show called ‘Skitz’. The rest of the Frow Show cast and musicians are professional performers from all around RH19.
Tickets: From £18 (early bird) via the Frow Show Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thefrowshow
