Chichester District Foodbank expects to feed a thousand children this summer with their Summer Holiday Lunch Pack Scheme.

The charity is offering food parcels for those children who usually receive free school meals during term time.

The packs will include items to the equivalent of ten school meals, providing items such as milk, pasta, biscuits, and baked beans. Each package weighs around 13kg - with the advice to bring bags to take it home if you don't have access to a car.

Sarah Adams, Operations Manager at Chichester Foodbank said: “Most of the food is cupboard essentials so it can be bulked out with other things. The county council issues supermarket vouchers as well.”

Eligible children will receive vouchers at school which can be registered on the Chichester District Foodbank site.

Families will be able to choose from a variety of dates with collection points across the local area.

The foodbank urges that parents register in good time, with registration closing on Sunday 18th June.
