60 year celebration of artistic creativity in Chichester

A series of 'In Conversation' talks are expected to be held starting later this week at The Novium Museum in Chichester.

The talks will accompany the latest exhibition at the museum, which explores the arts, culture and heritage of Chichester city and the district from 1952 to the present day.

The series of 'in conversation' talks will be with some of the city's key cultural leaders who have helped make Chichester's creative landscape what it is today.

The first event will take place this Thursday before the next one in mid-December.

The events set to be held as part of the celebrations are:

  • From Film Society to International Film Festival: The Story of Chichester Cinema at New Park (Thursday 17th November)
  • Art for Everyone: Empowering Creativity in the Community (Thursday 15th December)
  • Chichester Festival Theatre: 60 Years of Miracle Making (Thursday 26th January)
  • Chichester and Music: from Choirs and College to University and youth (Thursday 9th February)
  • Pallant House Gallery: How it has become a leading institution for Modern British Art (Thursday 23rd February)

All events are set to be held in The Novium Museum on Tower Street in Chichester, from 6.30pm until 7.30pm, with an opportunity to view The Art of Chichester exhibition from 5.30pm.

Tickets cost £5. Students and Seniors (over 65) are £4. People can also book three talks and get the fourth free - when purchasing online the discount is automatically applied at checkout. Advance booking is essential.
