Annual dog beach ban in force in parts of Bognor, Littlehampton and Felpham

Arun District Council are reminding dog owners that annual restrictions on Arun’s bathing beaches will come into force today (1st May).

In a statement Council officials confirmed that to keep beaches clean, safe and accessible, dogs are prohibited from these beach areas between 1 May and 30 September each year:

  • Bognor Regis – from Park Road to Gloucester Road
  • Felpham – from Canning Road to Felpham Sailing Club
  • Littlehampton – from East Pier to Norfolk Road

Dogs must be kept on a lead when walking on the promenades alongside these areas. The Council also reminded residents that your dog is your responsibility at all times and that includes picking up their poo.

Dog owners who are seen to be walking their dog on beaches with restrictions or on the promenades, off-lead, will be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.

The statement also confirm that "Our four-legged friends are welcome on other stretches of our coastline all year round".
