It's for further repairs to a bridge over the A27 between Emsworth and Havant
Another weekend of road closures on the A27 is in store, for repairs to a bridge over the A27 between Emsworth and Havant
Last weekend's closure caused long delays and frustration for many motorists, which was the first instance of several full weekend and overnight closures for the second phase of repairs and maintenance to a bridge on the A27 in Hampshire.
The bridge located on the A27 goes over Wade Court Road between Havant and Emsworth.
Essential work includes replacing bridge joints, waterproofing, resurfacing, and replacement of the central concrete barrier. This will generate some noise for which National Highways apologise in advance.
Drivers should allow extra time during their journeys and follow the official diversion route signposted.
The next weekend closure will be on the eastbound carriageway, details as follows:
Full eastbound weekend closure:
- 9pm Friday 20 September to 6am Monday 23 September
- From Monday 23 September for four nights there will be overnight closures on the eastbound carriageway.
Diversion for traffic in both directions
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via Park Road South, Park Road North, B2149, Bartons Road, Horndean Road, Southleigh Road and Emsworth Road.
Westbound traffic will follow the same route in the opposite direction.
