Bognor Regis charity to help blind and sight impaired residents access benefits in bid to ease cost-of-living struggles

4Sight Vision Support wants to help locals access support easier

A Bognor Regis charity is helping blind and sight impaired residents access benefits in a bid to ease the struggles of the cost-of-living crisis.

4Sight Vision Support aims to make the "long and daunting process" of claiming benefits easier for blind and sight impaired residents by offering specialists who can advise them on funds they may be entitled to. The team help visually impaired people with completing forms and even getting a 50% discount on their TV licence.

The charity highlights that "identifying and accessing benefits and concessions" has the potential to make a "huge different to quality of life, independent living and general wellbeing."

Advisors also highlight that the government have set up more "non-repayable payments" to "those who are affected the most", including a winter fuel payment plus pensioner and disability cost of living payments.

A spokesperson for 4Sight Vision Support said: "We all know how difficult the cost-of-living crisis is, but for those with sight loss trying to identify and claim the correct benefits can be particularly daunting and protracted.

"4Sight Vision Support offers one to one help to its clients across West Sussex (open to all, no referral is needed) with applying for benefits, which can make a huge difference to quality of life and general wellbeing."
