The mayor will be doing it for one of his chosen charities.

The walk is set to take place on Saturday 1st October, in aid of 4Sight Vision Support, which is one of Cllr Barrett’s chosen charities.

4Sight Vision Support, provides specialist support for those who have sight impairments or are blind across West Sussex.

The walk will start at 10am, where there will be a choice of routes, those taking part can do either a  two, four or six mile route, with all of them including a number of wellbeing activities on their walk.

To make sure the walks are in line with 4Sight Vision Support’s mission statement, all of the walks will have suitable adjustment for those living with sight loss but may want to walk either independently or with assistance.

There will be Trained guides available, which can be requested upon booking, plus the routes have been made so that they are both pram and wheelchair accessible.

The Mayor and his partner, Carole Brett have supported 4sight Vision Support previously, with Miss Brett help to raise in excess of £1,225 by taking part in the first Wellbeing Walk around the Angmering Park Estate in July.

The entry fee is £10 for adults or £5 for children, which will include refreshments, a medal, and access to a range of wellbeing activities.

This fee covers the cost of the event so participants can focus on raising money for the charity, where targets of £50 are being encouraged.

More walks are also being planned, with the final one planned for Horsham town centre in March next year.
