Bognor 'My Sister's House' Asking Us To Dig Deep To Meet Fundraising Deadline

The crowdfunding appeal has given the women's charity the opportunity to take part in a match competition from the Aviva Community fund ...but that means they have to raise 100% of their target by 10.58am tomorrow (Thursday)

The centre which supported over 1, 300 women in Chichester and Bognor last year alone is appealing for funds to help them meet vital running costs.

My Sister's House is  running a crowdfunding appeal

They're hoping the community will rally around as they have £500 left to raise to reach the grand total of 15thousand pounds.

Chief Excecutive Lucy Budge said: "Our running costs include things like utility bills, rent, phone bills, broadband, repairs to our buildings, maintaining our computer systems, training and insurances, our ‘behind the scenes’ staff, resources and administration.

"All the things that make our frontline work possible."

"Without  funding we also can’t do the things that help make clients feel safe, comfortable and valued – for example offering a warm welcoming space and a hot drink on a cold day or switching on an electric fan in summer. We can’t give them as much practical help either, like printing important documents, covering the cost of a sandwich for a women disclosing abuse to the police, or providing colouring pencils and paper to keep her child occupied."

Helping on average 600 women a month, the charity points out  these  women are from a wide range of backgrounds – they could be your neighbours, friends, family, colleagues, customers or employees. They are certainly members of your wider community.
