Fire in Worthing

A fire has broken out in a block of flats in Worthing.

UPDATED: 16:22

Six fire engines were sent to Chapel Road at around 1:15pm.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue have released the following statement: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the affected property and used jets to extinguish the fire, which is believed to be of accidental ignition.The incident has now concluded, and the remaining crews will be leaving the scene imminently."

During the incident, nearby residents were urged to keep their doors and windows closed.

No one has been injured.
