Car crashes into River Adur

A driver has managed to get themselves out of a car which had gone into the River Adur in Shoreham.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue were called to a partially submerged car near the Ropetackle at around 1 a.m. yesterday. They managed to get the car out.

A 44-year-old man from Henfield's been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing a public nuisance.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.
