The public are invited to join archaeologists this week to uncover Chichester's hidden history.
Archaeologists in Chichester are meeting today in the hope to discover Roman treasures under Priory Park.
Today marks the first day of the dig which runs until Monday 5th June, coinciding with Chichester Roman Week.
This years dig hopes to uncover history from the Franciscan Friary, including masonry walls and decorative flooring.
Organisers are encouraging members of the public to visit the site, located to the north of the Guildhall.
On Saturday 3rd June they are hosting a special public day where Chichester District Council’s archaeologist, James Kenny, will be holding talks about their findings throughout the day.
Throughout Chichester Roman Week, other events will be held around the local area, including craft workshops, re-enactments, and guided walks.
