Chichester College Group students graduate in style

Students from across Chichester, Crawley and Brinsbury Colleges gathered together for a special graduation ceremony at Chichester Cathedral.

Though the skies were grey, the beaming smiles from the colleges’ graduates brightened up the day as their hard work and achievement was celebrated last week.  The students, who have completed higher national certificates and diplomas (HNCs and HNDs), top-up degrees and professional qualifications in subjects ranging from animal management to computing, and from business to early years studies. Deividas Kaminskas, who studied HND Business at Chichester College, said: “I am so incredibly happy to have made it to today and I am so proud of the hard work that I have put into my course.

“I have to say that I could not be more grateful for the support of my lecturers at Chichester College and I would highly recommend a higher education course here to anyone who wants to upskill and better their life.”
HND Animal Management student at Brinsbury College, Elizabeth Staniforth, added: “I have been so excited, nervous and proud leading up to today’s graduation.

“I have spent the past six years studying here at the Chichester College Group and although this is my biggest achievement to date, this is only the beginning for me!”

Rabia Khan, who studied HND Computing, Design & Security at Crawley College, praised the support of the lecturers at the college: “I am so thankful to all the support that has got me to this position today and, in particular, to my lecturer Dan Creed for helping me work towards my end goal.

"Being able to learn and grow in a campus close to home with familiar faces, facilities and lecturers has made such a difference to my further education journey."

It was the first CCG (Chichester College Group) graduation ceremony to be held at the cathedral since 2019, following the Covid-19 pandemic which limited large gatherings – and there was delight at being back in such grand surroundings.
Andrew Green, Chief Executive Officer of CCG, oversaw the ceremony. He said: “We are honoured to be able to pay tribute to the achievements of our students across the group at Chichester Cathedral, a beautiful location which befits the occasion. “It has been a lovely day, celebrating our students as they complete this chapter of their studies and take the next steps in their journeys to achieving their ambitions. They have shown huge commitment and passion for their subjects. “It is thanks to their own hard work and dedication – along with the support of their lecturers – that they can celebrate their accomplishments with the pride they deserve. Congratulations to them all.”
