Council Tax changes from next April

It will affect second homes and properties that have been empty for more than a year

From next April, council tax charges in a West Sussex district will be doubled for second homes and properties that have been empty for more than a year.

Arun District Council announced the change, following new legislation under the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.

The council approved this policy last March, with a requirement that it be confirmed a year in advance before any charges are implemented.
