A report on the mortuary abuse by David Fuller, the Sussex murderer, emphasises the urgent need for an independent regulator in the funeral sector.
Fuller, from Heathfield, received a prison sentence in 2021 for the abuse of over 100 female bodies at two hospitals in Kent, spanning a period of 12 years.
The inquiry's chairperson Sir Jonathan Michael, has called for broader reforms in response to the reported neglect within the funeral sector.
