Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville has opened the newly refurbished children’s A&E department at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
The £13,000 renovation, funded by the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, includes a larger waiting area, additional cubicles, and dedicated spaces for mental health care, enabling the department to treat up to 50 children each day.
Children’s nurse consultant Rachel Wilkinson described the new space as "fantastic" and more suited for purpose, with toys and activities to keep children engaged.
