Filming spotted around for new period comedy drama

‘Wicked Little Letters’, will officially begin filming around West Sussex next month.

The story follows a group of women who set out to solve the mystery of who is writing letters of a scandalous nature to people in Littlehampton.

Olivia Colman, from the likes of The Crown and Peep Show, and Jessie Buckley, known for ‘Wild Rose’ and ‘Chernobyl’ will star in the film.

From 3rd October, official filming will take place until 5th October in Arundel, with the help of Sussex Film Office who have been working closely with Arundel Town Council and Arun District Council.

For those travelling in the area, several road closures will also put in place, with the High Street closed from Sunday, 2nd October until Wednesday 5th October. 

While the road closure is in place, Tarrant Street will also become a two-way road with access via Surrey Street only.

Some businesses will also be closed as filming gets underway whilst some will be dressed differently to accommodate filming.

These will include:

The Arundel Butcher, Pallant’s of Arundel, Pizza Express, Bagels and Coffee, Jennings and Co, The Steakist, Cockburn’s Tea Room, The Red Lion, Covet, Cubitt and West, Motte and Bailey, La Campania, Sims Williams, Kim’s Bookshop, Antiques Centre, The Burger Shop Co, Antiques Oriental, Antiques and Militaria, The Norfolk Arms, and Number Twenty Four.

Actors and actresses have already been seen dressed in appropriate clothing for the 1920s.

The company behind the new film is Blueprint Pictures, as the road closures may inconveniences to the public, they have made a donation to Arundel Town Council.

Blueprint Pictures is the company behind films such as In Bruges, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
