Former East Worthing and Shoreham MP, Tim Loughton, has expressed his support following the Civil Aviation Authority's decision to revoke the licence of the pilot involved in the Shoreham Airshow disaster.
Loughton called the ruling the right outcome and condemned the pilot's attempt to regain his licence as deeply insensitive.
The former MP added that the decision would bring some comfort to the families of the 11 men who tragically lost their lives when Andrew Hill's aircraft crashed onto the A27 during the 2015 airshow.
Mr Hill had faced 11 charges of manslaughter by gross negligence but was acquitted after a 2019 trial.
However, in December 2022, a coroner concluded that his significant errors and "poor" flying of the Hawker Hunter plane resulted in the unlawful deaths of the 11 men.
