Inspectors have warned that the health services at an immigration detention center near Gatwick Airport are at a critical breaking point.
Incidents of self-harm have more than doubled at Brook House since the last report from HM Chief Inspector of Prisons in 2022.
Fights and assaults on staff are up more than five-fold.
Inspectors praised efforts to improve activities and said welfare work remained good despite the service being "fragile and understaffed."
Brook House Immigration Removal Centre is a detention facility managed by G4S, located within the grounds of Gatwick Airport in West Sussex, England.
The centre, which opened in March 2009, is designed to securely hold male detainees, including those deemed difficult to manage in less secure environments.
Its operational capacity has been adjusted over the years, currently accommodating around 448 individuals.
