In pictures: The £7.2 million Littlehampton seafront transformation revealed

Arun Council now want to hear local thoughts on the upgrade

Pictures of a £7.2 million transformation of Littlehampton seafront have been revealed, prompting councillors to look to locals for their thoughts on the upgrade.

Images show new spaces for water play, climbing nets and volleyball, concessions units plus an area for market events in the scheme hoped to begin next year. Designs also make room for new toilets, beach showers, car park improvements and walkways, teamed with 'sustainable planting' that matches the coastal setting.

A Changing Places facility has also been included in plans, with funding secured to build the accessible toilet with equipment such as hoists and support rails.

Shaun Gunner, leader of Arun District Council, emphasised the need for local input to "ensure that the project is right for the community and for our town."

“This project is all about transforming the seafront in Littlehampton and helping to make our town a great place to live, to work and to visit.

"With £7.2 million of investment going into Littlehampton, this is your chance to shape the future of our seafront – so please get involved!”

With the consultation beginning 9am on Friday the 21st of October, staffed exhibitions will also take place at Littlehampton Wave on the first and fifth of November between 10am and 1pm, as well as on the 10th of November between 4 and 7pm.
