The conversion joins plans to demolish Mewsbrook Park Kiosk
Public toilets at a local park in Littlehampton are to be transformed into a new café as plans to demolish a neighbouring kiosk are approved.
Mewsbrook Park's kiosk received approval from Arun District Council last Wednesday to allow the building to be demolished in exchange for a café development to take place in nearby public toilets. A mock-up of the proposed café shows an outdoor seating area furnished with benches, solar panels, and toilets that can be accessed externally.
The plans came into fruition following operators of the current kiosk Chance Catering Limited acquiring a new 20 year lease back in April. Plans currently hope to start work on the café in October and the opening date is hoped to be in time for next spring.
However, some objections included the fact that toilets will only be available in café opening hours of 9-5.
