The Surrey Street restaurant was supposed to close permanently following liquidation
Littlehampton's Wimpy restaurant will open refurbished despite announcing permanent closure earlier this year.
It was announced that the Surrey Street restaurant was to shut down following liquidation in June after 45 years of serving the town, however the brand has revealed since that the building's renovation has already started. Although no firm date for the reopening has been set, the revamped Wimpy is set to reopen beneath a new franchisee, Raj Somasundaram.
A spokesperson for Wimpy said they are "thrilled" to have delivered on their promise to "return as soon as possible".
"We know that [Raj] and his team will be working hard to welcome customers back through the doors for our fabulous, good value food."
The revival of the restaurant is expected to see it open before the end of this year.
