Eight bus passenger information screens are to be set up in Chichester after the district council approved the use of £60,000 to do the job.

Cabinet members have agreed to release the money from the Community Infrastructure Levy to West Sussex County Council in order to install the real-time screens. More than 20 have already been installed across the city.

Phase 2 will see two screens placed at the Church stops in Whyke Road, covering the routes travelling north and south. Two will be placed at the Chichester Free School stops in Hunston Road, also for the routes travelling north and south. Two will be placed at the Leisure Centre stops in Via Ravenna for routes travelling east and west. And one screen will be placed at the South Bank stop in Stockbridge Road for the service heading south, and the Westgate Stop V in Avenue De Chartres, also for the service travelling south.

Members were told that decisions about where to site the screens were made using information from bus companies which detailed which stops were the most well-used when it came to picking up passengers.
