Local chip shop's plea after break-in sees guide dog fundraiser stolen

The charity box had been at the Royals chip shop for over 20 years

A local business has promised a reward to anyone who can return a 20-year-old charity box to its store after it was stolen on Tuesday.

Royals chip shop, which sits on Royal Parade, was subject to a break in at 2:30am on the 23rd of August that saw a suspect steal a yellow dog shaped statue which had been collecting money for Guide Dogs for decades. Owners are currently awaiting the retrieval of CCTV footage, but captured a still from the break-in.

The suspect in the picture appears to be wearing a cap and a jacket. Anybody with information is urged to call 01243 865080.
