Local Play Area Gets £41.5K Makeover

The improvements are the result of partnership working between Arun District Council and Findon Parish Council and were made possible using £31.5K CIL funding from South Downs National Park Authority.

An extra £10K was also provided by ADC from our capital play funding budget.

The improvements include a new timber zip wire, junior timber climbing unit with surfacing and timber trim trail items that are in keeping with the beautiful South Downs National Park. The councils worked together to select Eibe Play Ltd to carry out the improvement work.

The opening event was attended by children from the local area, representatives from Arun District Council including Chair of the Council Councillor Samantha-Jayne Staniforth, the Leader Councillor Shaun Gunner and Councillor David Edwards Chair of the Environment Committee. Representatives from Findon Parish including Councillor John Wilson who led the project on behalf of the Parish Council attended along with Findon Parish Councillors Linda Martin and Robin Carr, and Stuart Evans from Eibe Ltd

Chair of the Council Samantha-Jayne Staniforth said “we are extremely pleased with the outcome of the play improvement works which are the result of successful collaboration between Arun District Council and Findon Parish Council. We hope the local community will be able to enjoy the new play equipment for many years to come”.
