New base for Bognor's Citizens Advice team.

The new look Arun & Chichester Citizens Advice centre was officially opened by Citizens Advice Chief Executive, Dame Clare Moriarty on Friday 19th May 2023,

Citizens Advice is the UK’s largest advice charity and has been offering a free and independent service for over 80 years. The previous Bognor Regis centre at the old fire station site opened in 1998 and has helped thousands of residents by offering advice and support.

Dame Clare Moriarty, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice, said “It’s great to be here to open this new office, which will help people access vital advice and support. “As everyone feels the squeeze of the rising cost of living, this support is more important than ever. Local Citizens Advice offices across the country have had their busiest start to a year on record. “It’s clear that this cost-of-living crisis is far from over, but the advisers and volunteers here at Bognor Regis will be here to help people find a way forward.”

As the town evolves, Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice are pleased to be open in their new location, combining their dedicated staff and volunteers in a modern environment, occupying a central location, closer to the towns transportation links, makes the service even more accessible and enables them to continue giving local clients advice as and when they need it.

Reflecting on the relocation Luca Badioli, Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice CEO says:

“At Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice we always aim to create the spirit of a family unit, working together for the same purpose.

"This has been reflected within this move, where staff worked extra hours, partners stepped in to support, volunteers came to help too, to ensure that we were able to continue to provide a service to the Bognor Regis community without any interruptions during a period where demand is at its highest.

"We are now in a prime location and more visible to the community and we look forward to helping more people than ever before”.

"With the Cost-of-Living crisis surging across the country, the local service has proved invaluable to clients, with over 2200 Bognor residents using the service in the past 12 months. They have seen significant rises in clients struggling with energy and financial issues."

Volunteers are at the heart of the organisation and with the increased demand on the service, comes the call for more Volunteers to come forward. You can find out more about volunteering here.
