New solar farm planned for Runcton

A new 30MW solar farm is being proposed just outside Chichester

Plans for a new solar farm in Runcton, just outside of Chichester, have been submitted to the district council. If approved, the 30-megawatt solar panelled project could generate enough electricity to power 9,000 homes for a year.

Additionally, it is also expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 6,500 tonnes annually.

However, the proposal has sparked concerns among locals, with objections focusing on the potential loss of land and the impact on local wildlife.
