Police are appealing for information following welfare concerns for man seen on the beach in Selsey

Emergency services responded to a report at around 12.30pm on Sunday (December 1), after a man was seen standing in the water at Selsey beach, adjacent to Kingsway.

There’s been extensive search of Selsey beach involving the coastguard helicopter and rescue teams after reports of a man standing in the water in distress.

The man is described as being between 20 and 30 years old, with black hair and tattoos on his wrists. He was wearing a blue top and black trousers.

Anyone who saw him entering or leaving the water on Sunday is asked to contact police.
