A West Sussex County Councillor has praised those pupils who received their GCSE results on Thursday.
The students were among the first nationally to sit in-person exams for the first time since the pandemic.
Nigel Jupp, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Learning & Skills, said: “Following the success of our A-Level students last week, I congratulate our GCSE students who will be receiving their results today. They too have overcome an extremely turbulent few years and can rightly be proud of their achievements.
“This is an exciting time for these young people as they decide on their next steps, be that moving to further education, starting an apprenticeship or other training, or entering the world of employment. There are plenty of opportunities available to all students, and our careers team are on hand to provide support.”
