Plans for a Tim Horton's in Bognor Regis have been approved, just days after it was revealed that a branch was opening in Chichester.
Arun District council accepted plans for the chain to take the place of Arun Retail Park's former Pizza Hut restaurant in a meeting yesterday. Fifty new jobs are expected to be created in the store known for its doughnuts and coffee, and a drive-thru is also set to be built in the car park.
Kevin Hydes, Tom Horton's UK Chief commercial officer, shared hopes to have 80 UK stores by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Kiru Malkin, who manages Arun Retail Park, added that there is "significant socio-ecnomic case for the devleopment" of the restaurant.
"The unit is currently vacant and the development will ensure it remains in economic active use in the long term."
Plans were resubmitted following tree felling fears, however the applicant insists that those that will be cut down are "category U", meaning they will likely become diseased.
