
Fire crews have spent the night tackling a large fire at an historic pub in Oving.
A fire broke out at the Gribble Inn shortly after 5:30 PM yesterday (27/02/2025).
Ten fire engines rushed to the scene as firefighters battled the blaze.
Residents were advised to avoid the area and keep their doors and windows closed due to heavy smoke.
So far investigations suggest the fire was started accidentally, although this is unconfirmed at this stage, full details are expected to be released later.

V2 Radio reporter Kelly Morey described the scene, saying, "As you can see from the video and images, the fire looks devastating and has swept through the thatched roof."
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “Following on from the large fire at the Gribble Inn, crews have been working hard throughout the night and the fire is now under control.
