What types of paper can be recycled in West Sussex ?

Arun District Council are reminding residents what can and can't be recycled.

In a bid to get West Sussex residents recycling more effectively Arun District Council have published some guidelines to help locals with their paper recycling. 

According to the council you can recycle envelopes, including those with a window.

However the council is urging residents to refrain from trying to recycling paper materials that is stained with foodstuffs, grease, paint or dirt, e.g. kids paintings, greaseproof or baking paper.

Other paper items that are allowed to be recycled are, Brown paper - this should be recycled with card not paper because it causes brown flecks in new paper.

Clean paper is a valuable recyclable material but only when it is clean, computer and shredded paper, magazines, brochures, leaflets, junk mail, telephone directories and catalogues.

As well as newspapers and supplements.

The council are also reminding the public that the following items are not on this list : Hygiene and sanitary products such as nappies, wipes or sanitary towels.

No non-paper gift wrap or bags, e.g. foil-based gift wrapping, tissues or used paper towels, sticky papers, (Post-it notes, sticky labels or paper tape) wet wipes, cotton wool or make up pads or wallpaper.
