Worthing Pier has reopened after two months to address safety concerns.
The pier was closed in October following an assessment by engineers from Worthing Borough Council.
A new steel support spanning the full width of the structure has now been installed.
The council estimates the repair costs at around £430,000.
Cllr Sophie Cox, the leader of Worthing Borough Council, said: “I would like to thank our residents and our pier businesses for their patience and support while we have worked through the challenges to make the pier safe.
“This project has shown just how much the people of Worthing think about their pier and how important it is to the town and its identity.”
